Federal Prison: Federal Bureau of Prisons – Are changes coming for first-time non-violent Federal Prison Inmates?

by | Sep 30, 2013 | Federal Prison, first time non-violent Federal Prison Inmate |

In an historical speech to the American Bar Association, Attorney General Eric Holder announced revised procedures and criteria for Federal Prison Inmates seeking reduced federal prison sentences.  The Attorney General singled out elderly federal prison inmates and federal prison inmates that are the only possible caregiver for their dependents who did not commit violent federal crimes and have served significant portions of their federal prison sentence.

Changes are coming for the first time non-violent Federal Prison Inmate.  How quickly the changes are coming is unclear.  The change in federal prison policy is a step in the right direction.
