Federal Prison: Federal Bureau of Prisons – Are changes coming for Elderly Inmates in Federal Prison?

by | Sep 30, 2013 | Elderly Inmates in Federal Prison |

Attorney General Eric Holder in an August speech to the American Bar Association signaled a change in policies concerning Elderly Federal Prison Inmates housed in Federal Prisons.  But does that mean that Elderly Federal Prison Inmates in Federal Prison will be released?

Elderly Federal Prison Inmates in Federal Prison are a large cost to the Federal Bureau of Prisons.  In an expansion of the Federal Bureau of Prison Policy concerning Elderly Federal Prison Inmates, if a federal prison inmate is elderly, did not commit a violent crime, and have served a significant portion of their Federal Sentence, they will be considered for a federal release.  It will be up to the Sentencing Judge to agree.

Contact Federal Prison Consultants for our help in gaining release for an Elderly Federal Prison Inmate in the Federal Prison System.
